says Professor Yunlong Zhao, who is part of the team that developed the lens. The lens checks the blood sugar level in the tears. It then transfers its data wirelessly to the computer. It can be used to see the risk of diabetes and heart disease.

This smart lens is thinner than a normal lens,
says Shiki Guo, a professor at Harvard University. A sensor and circuit are fitted between the two lenses. Fluid in the eye comes in contact with these sensors and receives new information through them.
