The bank has taken this step to curb the rising ATM fraud across the country. PNB Bank has informed about this on social media.

Customers will not be able to withdraw money from PNB non-EMV ATM machines from February 1, PNB Bank said on social media. "We are going to ban transactions from non-EMV ATM machines from February 1 to protect our esteemed customers from ATM fraud," the bank said. Be digital, be safe!

What is a non-EMV ATM? A
non-EMV ATM is one in which an ATM or debit card is not used during the transaction. In this machine the data card is read by a magnetic bar. Here the card is also locked for a few seconds.

In
December 2020, the bank changed the rules for withdrawing cash from ATMs by introducing OTP based cash withdrawal facility . In which OTP (One Time Password) based cash withdrawal facility was introduced. Under this facility, OTP is sent to the account holders to withdraw more than Rs. 10,000 in cash. They cannot withdraw cash without OTP.
